Production

SBN reacted to the trend towards increasingly large, technically sophisticated and hence heavy chemical equipment in good time — units weighing 200 tons and more are no longer a rarity. Due to the wider range of skills required today, our highly specialized craftsmen are no longer merely excellent welders but have been trained to handle complex mechanical engineering tasks, permitting flexible staff assignment. Large amounts have also been invested in expanding capacity and modernizing all our production operations.

Production is concentrated in two buildings with a total floor space of 5,270 square meters (sqm). All prefabrication stages from cutting through to sheet metal forming and machining, as well as some final assembly work, are carried out in the new 3,000 sqm pressure vessel shop. The ultramodern production equipment includes a CNC BTA deep hole drilling machine for holes with diameters of up to 40 mm, a 4000 mm vertical lathe and several manipulators with capacities of up to 50 tons. Six cranes, with lifting capacities of up to 240 tons, ensure that handling and loading go smoothly.

The key to the whole production process is highly complex welding operations. We have a wide range of equipment including electrode, TIG, MIG and MAG welding, submerged arc wire and strip overlay welding, and computerized tube-to-tubesheet welding machines, as well as a number of vessel rotators with capacities of up to 500 tons.
