OMV Stop
- Location: Schwechat, Österreich
- Year: 2005
In summer 2005 the biggest plant shutdown in the history of OMV took place in the refinery Schwechat. Revisions of heat exchangers, repairs of apparatuses, plant assembling, vessel modifications as well as service of fittings and pumps were carried out along with the biggest plant revamp in the history of the refinery.
The wide range of activities demanded by a project of this size was carried out for the first time by intergroup cooperation of three sister companies of the Christof Group namely JCH, ACE and RIA.
Commencing with the organisational and logistic challenges, the difficult disassembly in very confined space, to the point of repairs in non-stop and weekend shift works 580 employees of the Christof Group were involved in this major project. Worth mentioning is not only our employees’ top-rate performance regarding schedule and quality but particularly the reaching of our target of zero (!) accidents at work – all this at a total volume of about 120.000 hours worked.
The companies of the Christof Group worked perfectly together in this unique teamwork. Mr. Kaltenbrunner, Director of the Refinery Schwechat, congratulated the Christof Group on this “really great success” and thanked “all parties hereto for their commitment and performances”. According to Mr. Kaltenbrunner the outstanding performance of the whole project is “the success of an intensive cooperation for a common purpose. We see what we are able to manage when everybody knows the goal, declares support and brings in competence with commitment.”
